UPDATE:  Pics from the dog show are here: http://photos.lindascannell.com/tarrs2011

If you live in Coventry and Warwickshire and you’re looking for something to do on Sunday 28th August,  pop along to Ryton Pools near Bubbenhall and join in the TARRS Fun Dog Show.  TARRS stands for The Animal Rescue & Rehabilitation Society and is run by the lovely Sophie Peacock.  They’re only a small charity and rely on donations and the goodwill of volunteers to enable them to rescue and rehome dogs and cats in Warwickshire and beyond.   It should be a really good day with charity stalls, refreshments and a dog display. Best of all, you get the chance to enter your prize pooch in some fun classes for a chance to win rosettes and good bags.  It only costs £1 to enter per class, and you get to choose from the following

  • Dog with the Waggiest Tail
  • Most Handsome Male
  • Prettiest Bitch
  • Best Puppy
  • Best Veteran (7+ yrs)
  • Best Pedigree
  • Best Crossbreed
  • Best Rescue
  • Best Child Handler

There’s a “Best in Show” award too.  They’ll be taking entries to Dog Show at 11.00am and judging starts at 12.30.  I’ve volunteered to take photographs and you’ll have chance to buy prints via my website afterwards – I’ll be making a donation to TARRS for each print you buy too. You’ll find more about TARRS and the excellent work they do on their website: www.tarrs.org.uk – or, better still, visit the show and you can find out first hand.
