I love luminariums and so do the rest of my family.  If you’re wondering what one is, it’s an inflatable art sculpture that lets in light at various points.  But that description doesn’t really do them justice.  They have an otherworldly quality that you need to experience to really appreciate.  They’re made by Architects of Air, and this half term they’ve got a brand new one on show at the Lakeside Arts Centre at the University of Nottingham. It’s called Pentalum and it’s as beautiful as the others we’ve seen.  We visited today when it was pouring with rain.  We were a bit concerned that the light effect wouldn’t be as good as the others we’ve seen as we’ve always managed to pick a sunny day to go, but we needn’t have worried.  Here are a few quick interior shots.
