Why investing in a professional business portrait is important
The image you portray to the world via your printed marketing materials, website and social media presence has a big impact on attracting the right clients. Often the portraits you use on your website and social media sites, like LinkedIn and Twitter, will be the first time potential customers will see you. Pictures cropped from your holiday photos don’t show that you’re taking your business seriously and, because people buy people, using your logo or images of your product for your profile photo isn’t a great idea either. I can help you and your business make a great first impression by creating engaging, flattering portraits that show your personality and professionalism. From my years of experience photographing people, I know that most adults don’t enjoy the prospect of having their photo taken so I don’t rush you – we’ll take time to get lots of photos to ensure you get the best version of you.

Thank you so very much! The pictures look amazing! Not only have you provided me with top quality photos but you have given them to me in ready-to-use formats as well.
In addition to the quality of the photos, working with you was a fabulous experience. I didn’t know what to expect as this was my very first professional headshot session. You made the experience extremely pleasant and easy. I appreciate all the forms and tips you sent ahead of the appointment and all the detailed instructions afterward. I didn’t have any worries and during the photo shoot I felt that I was in good hands. Thank you for the way you handled the session – very professional yet friendly and putting me at ease.Breese S
Linda created an excellent portfolio of portraits for my business website and other media. She understood exactly what I was looking for and made the whole process very easy, from planning the shoot to organising the day and sending through the edited images. Linda is fun to work with and very professional. I felt completely confident I would get pictures that I would love – and I do.Christine Michael
Linda is fantastic to work with – an absolute joy! I’ve recently worked with Linda on a photo shoot for professional head-shots. Initially, I thought I would only use them on my website but they’ve been so versatile that I’ve used them in my social media, blogs and Facebook posts to advertise my business. The quality of the images are to a very high level, and Linda really captured what I wanted the audience to see in presenting myself and my business. I’m looking forward to continuing to work with Linda in the future on both a personal puppy shoot and professional website stock images. I would not hesitate to recommend Linda to my family, friends and colleagues.Rachel Wade
What should I wear?
It depends on 4 factors:
- Your personal style
- Your profession
- Your target audience
- Your brand values and the message you want to convey
For example, if you’re a financial adviser, you’ll probably want to instil a feeling of trust and reliability and your clients may expect to see you in traditional office attire. But if you run a graphic design company, you may want to let your staff show off their individuality and creativity.
As a general guide, think about what you’d normally wear to an initial meeting with a potential client as your business portraits are allowing them to “meet” you online first.
When you book your session, we’ll have a chat about this and a lot more. I’ll also send you my tips and hints sheet which covers this in more detail.
Can I have my makeup done for me?
Yes, I can arrange for one of my trusted professional makeup artists to do your makeup for you. Mention when you book. We’ll need to allow an extra hour beforehand.
Can I have my portraits against a white background?
I don’t recommend white background shots, as they won’t make you stand out from the crowd. However, I appreciate you may need some if you want to use cut outs on your website or marketing, so I can bring my portable studio with me if you wish. There is a small additional charge to allow for the extra time to setup the studio.
Can I have some outdoor shots?
Yes. I love natural light and, weather permitting, we can work outdoors as well as indoors.
How do I choose my favourites?
Approximately 10 days after our session, I’ll provide you with a link to a private online gallery where you can view the images and select your favourites. I’ll fully edit these and provide you with a link to download your image files. You can also have them on disc or USB stick if you prefer for a small additional fee.
Where can I use my photos?
All your chosen photos come with a copyright licence allowing you to use the images to promote you and your business on the web, in printed marketing materials and press releases for an unlimited time period. If you want to use your image in a book, for example, there may be an additional licensing fee, which will depend on the size of print run and where you’re using the photo. Please ask for a quote.
What resolution are the images?
I know the whole issue of image sizes and optimisation can be bewildering, so I do a lot of the work for you by giving you 4 different versions of each image, all in JPEG format:
- a high resolution file optimised for printing – perfect for giving to your graphic designer to incorporate in your leaflets, brochures, etc.
- a medium resolution version ideal for emailing out with press releases
- a low resolution version optimised for displaying on your website or blog or to accompany your Facebook updates.
- a square crop version optimised for using as your profile picture on LinkedIn, Twitter and other social media platforms
