What a busy start to 2015.  I had some exciting news  – I entered Theo Paphitis’s “Small Business Sunday” competition on Twitter for the first time with a tweet about my popular “Photography for Busy Business People” course and on Monday evening he picked me as one of this week’s winners!  I’m so excited and amazed as some businesses have to enter for months or even years before they get picked.

Thank you so much to Theo for choosing me and my course – I really appreciate it and it’s given me a much needed boost as all the hoo-ha about the new EU VAT rules for digital sellers had got me doubting whether it was worth the effort.  (If you sell digital products to the EU and you’re not aware of the new regulations, do Google it as you could be liable for paying VAT in the country where you buyer’s located even if you’re way below the VAT limit in this country and the fines for not complying are unlimited – it’s a nightmare.  Even if you sell physical products, it’s worth finding out about it as the new regulations are supposed to be rolled out to cover those in 2016.)

Anyway, back to DIY business photography, which is a far nicer topic!  Amanda Miller, who runs the Networking Mummies group in Solihull, asked me to give them a talk on photography for businesses as it was a topic that lots of them had raised as an issue. So on Monday next week (12 January 2015), I’ll be at their first coffee morning of the year giving everyone a taster session with lots of tips and hints to improve your photography .  There will be lots of chance to network with other local business folk and you don’t have to be a mummy to come along.  But if you are a mummy (or daddy) you’re welcome to bring your child with you if you wish.  There’s no fee or membership, just buy yourself a drink and join in.

Venue: The Corus Regency Hotel, Stratford Road, Shirley, Solihull B90 4EB (free parking on site)

Time: Mon 12 January 2015, 10am to 12noon

Cost: Free

How to book: You don’t need to book but let me know you’re coming so we can make sure there are enough seats.

If you can’t make it on Monday, sign up for my “Photography for Busy Business People” news on this page and I’ll email you with some tips and hints later on Monday.

Have a great weekend!
